This Relay-25 fits in a standard single gang box. It is used in conjunction with the 4iE® Smart thermostat series as well as the Tempo thermostat, in order to expand the original 15 amp capacity. It is specifically designed for large applications beyond 800 sqft.
If it is not installed in the floor, the joint may give and your system will no longer work. Not only will your warranty be voided but you will have to repair the joint and place it back into the floor. The joint connects the heated wire to the unheated lead. NEVER leave the factory joint exposed to air and do not place it in or behind the wall.

Yes. The box and mounting requirements are identical for all horizontal Warmup thermostats and the sensor is compatible. If you’d like to swap a 3iE for a 4iE or Tempo thermostat you will need to consult with a qualified electrician, as it requires handling line voltage wires when disconnecting and reconnecting.
